Dr. Jonet Artis

Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Maryland, College Park

Dr. Jonet Artis is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park. She obtained a B.A in Linguistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), a M.Ed. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at North Carolina Central University,  and Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences at UNC. Prior to beginning her doctoral program at UNC, she worked clinically as a certified speech-language pathologist (SLP). Her experiences as a clinician continue to inform many of her research questions. 

Her research primarily focuses on the early language development of children with autism. She is also interested in interventions for language development, with specific focus on how interventions are delivered and access to interventions.
